Coronavirus Update (as of 3/17/2020)
We named our church after a rock, but not just any rock. At a time like this, even if it makes no sense to the world, it makes all the sense in the world to be named after a rock. Christ Jesus is the rock of our salvation. Those who believe on Him and build their lives on Him will discover again and again, with every crashing wave of this life, that no matter what comes against us, our houses will stand (Matthew 7:24-27). Our lives are founded upon the Rock. The winds and waves of Corona will blow long and hard, but founded where we are, we have no need to fear. Corona will blow over.
As we wait, the church is prevented from gathering. This includes Adult Bible Fellowship, Youth Bible Study, Community Groups, Youth Group, Precepts Bible Study, Men’s Breakfast, and all other church activities where we would gather as a group. As Christians, we obey governing authorities (Romans 13, 1 Peter 2), so long as their orders do not oppose the commands of God (Acts 5:29). We won’t be gathering until further notice, but we know that the God who works all things together for good (Romans 8:28) has purposes even in this. We’ll live stream services at 10:30 on Sunday mornings, so we encourage all Christians—all those who stand upon the Rock—to share the Refuge that we have found with everyone else. Invite everyone to join the live stream worship service. A link will be provided here, on the front page of this website, by Sunday morning.
Until we gather again, let’s each demonstrate what it looks like to stand fast upon the Rock in the midst of chaos. Don’t panic. Trust in Christ, who says, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; Believe also in me” (John 14:6).
On Christ the Solid Rock,
